Did you know…
… that today is the anniversary of the Oklahoma Land Rush? The first Oklahoma land rush began at noon in 1889. More than 50,000 people took part. A number of the people who participated in the run entered the unoccupied land early and hid there until the legal time of entry to lay quick claim to some of the choicest homesteads. These people came to be known as “Sooners.”
