… that today is Homeless Women Shelter Day? On Easter Sunday in 1974, Kip Tiernan and others opened Rosie’s Place in Boston, the first shelter for homeless women in the United States. Rosie’s Place has evolved from providing meals and shelter to providing permanent solutions through advocacy, education, and affordable housing.
