Toast Masters 5-7 minute Speech

Opening:

Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, and fellow Toastmasters, I want to start my speech today with a big statement: “Hope is not a luxury, it is a necessity.” And that is precisely what we’re going to talk about today. We will explore the profound words of Napoleon Bonaparte who once said, “A leader is a dealer in hope.”

Body:

We have all been in situations where we needed hope, where we were desperate for someone to come along and tell us that everything is going to be alright. It’s in those moments that a true leader emerges, someone who can give us hope, someone who can inspire us to push through the challenges, to keep going when the going gets tough.

So, what is hope? Hope is the belief that things will get better. It’s the feeling that propels us forward, even when we’re faced with adversity. It’s the light at the end of the tunnel, the rainbow after the storm, the silver lining in the cloud.

And who better to offer us hope than a leader? A leader who can paint a picture of a better tomorrow, who can inspire us with their vision, and who can instill in us the belief that we can make a difference. A leader who is a dealer in hope understands that hope is not just a feeling, it’s an action. It’s about taking steps towards a better future, about making things happen, about creating a world that is worth fighting for.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, I want to remind all of us that we have the power to be leaders, to be dealers in hope. It doesn’t matter whether we are in a formal leadership position or not. We all have the ability to inspire and to give hope to those around us. So let us go out into the world and be the leaders that people need. Let us be the dealers in hope that Napoleon Bonaparte spoke of. And let us create a better tomorrow for ourselves and for those around us.
