Work for improving our community.

Daily writing prompt
How would you improve your community?

As a retired senior citizen, I believe in the importance of giving back to society. One way I can improve my community is by volunteering with NGOs that focus on healthcare initiatives.

In particular, I have been actively involved with an NGO that provides eye care and diabetic care services. With high rates of type 1 diabetes and the potential for millions of people to become blind in the state of Karnataka, it’s crucial that we take action to prevent these health issues from worsening.

Through partnerships with the government and other NGOs, we have worked to provide child type 1 diabetes care, child eye tests, and primary health center eye check flex boards. Additionally, we have provided free cataract surgeries to nearly 14,000 people through 600 village camps and a train camp on the Lifeline Express, which features full operation theatre facilities.

By continuing this important work, we can make a significant impact on the health and well-being of our community. Together, we can create a brighter, healthier future for all.
