Did you know…
… that today is Ellis Island Closing Day? Ellis Island, where over 20,000,000 immigrants were processed for entrance into the United States, opened for business on January 1, 1892. On November 12, 1954, it closed and is now a museum. Trivia buffs: The last person to pass through Ellis Island was a Norwegian merchant seaman by the name of Arne Peterssen in 1954.
~~~Today’s Inspirational Quote:
“Life can be like a roller coaster. And just when you think you’ve had enough, and you’re ready to get off the ride and take the calm, easy merry-go round you change your mind, throw your hands in the air and ride the roller coaster all over again. That’s exhilaration… that’s living a bit on the edge… that’s being alive.”
