Did you know…
… that today is War of the Worlds Day? On October 30, 1938, Orson Welles and the Mercury Players broadcast H. G. Wells’ War of the Worlds. The first two thirds of the 60-minute broadcast were presented as a series of simulated news bulletins, which suggested to many listeners that an actual alien invasion by Martians was currently in progress. The broadcast caused panic among listeners who believed it was a real news report. The episode secured Welles’s fame.
~~~Today’s Inspirational Quote:
“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”
— Abraham Maslow
